Our naval architecture firm, SB Yacht Design, is located in La Teste de Buch on the Bassin d’Arcachon.
We are a dynamic and innovative young company specializing in nautical services and engineering. Our team consists of naval architects, designers, and engineers. We handle the entire boat design process from start to finish (preliminary design, layout, structure, system engineering, construction plans, certification…) and also undertake smaller engineering projects. In recent years, we have been expanding our eco-design service by creating more environmentally friendly boats.

You will work within a small, young, and close-knit team of naval architects, engineers, and designers.
We are looking for an engineering or software development intern to contribute to our rapid growth and the continuous improvement of our services. This internship is the ideal opportunity for those who wish to dive into a stimulating technical environment while enjoying an exceptional quality of life
Software and Plug-in Development:
- Design an internal licensing system to enhance security.
- Develop plug-ins for our essential tools (Excel, Rhino, Grasshopper).
- Optimize and create scripts for various software used within the company (CFD, FEA).
Network Infrastructure Improvement:
- Optimize our network architecture to support our growth.
- Manage access rights to NAS and integrate the Microsoft Enterprise suite.
- Ensure optimal connectivity between our NAS and Microsoft tools.
Are you passionate about programming and optimization? Do you crave diversity in your tasks and want to develop concrete solutions that will have an immediate impact on our business? We are looking for someone currently studying computer engineering or software development, with a strong understanding of algorithms and logic, ready to take on technical challenges in a rapidly growing environment.
The skills we are looking for:
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Programming skills: C#, C++, Python, VBA.
- Technical English.
A first experience in an internship or work-study program is a plus. A driver’s license is appreciated to fully enjoy the region, but not essential for this position
We are opening a position for an intern or a infographiste on a fixed-term contract, ready to contribute to ambitious projects and the design of high-performance and innovative ships. Whether as an intern or on a fixed-term contract, this opportunity will allow you to immerse yourself in a stimulating technical environment while enjoying an exceptional quality of life.
3D Modeling and File Modification
- Create 3D environments to showcase renderings of different boats: showroom and exterior
- Create realistic textures
- Apply textures to existing 3D files
- Create a library of ready-to-use objects to integrate into our renderings
Automation of Modeling Techniques
- Create workflows in GrassHopper to facilitate 3D element modeling techniques
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proficiency in Rhino software and its rendering plugins V-ray / Phoenix
- Knowledge of PBR materials
- Familiarity with GrassHopper software
An interest in the nautical world is appreciated.
Previous internship or apprenticeship experience is preferable. A driver’s license is not required for the position but is preferable in the region.

Participation in the design phases:
- Follow projects from their conception to their realization.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency and efficiency in projects.
- Design the general hull volumes and check their hydrostatics.
- Install primary systems.
- Calculate and update weight estimates.
Naval project modeling:
- Model all project details accurately.
- Create 2D plans.

- Verify applicable standards and regulations for the project.

WHY YOU? You are currently studying or have recently graduated in naval architecture. You have a solid understanding of naval design principles, CAD software (Rhino, AutoCAD), and office tools (especially Excel). You are passionate about innovation in the nautical sector and have a strong interest in ship optimization.
THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Main skills:
- Strong foundation in naval design.
- Proficiency in software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Excel).
- Basic knowledge of primary systems.
- Understanding of hydrodynamics.
- Technical English.
